CARGO OPERATION AT SULTAN ISMAIL AIRPORT, JOHOR BAHRU MALAYSIA.

Sultan Ismail Airport, which is, situated at the southern most tip of the continent and the nearest airport to Changi Airport, Singapore provides an alternate airport for cargo operation. It is linked to Changi Airport and Port of Singapore (PSA) by a new highway called the Second Link. The trip from Sultan Ismail Airport, Johor Bahru to Changi, Singapore by road will only take approximately 45 minutes the hassle of traffic jam and long queue at the customs / immigration check point.

The same highway links the airport to the new seaport at Johor Bahru, the Tanjung Pelepas Port (PTP).Tanjung Pelepas seaport is an ultra modern port recently opened for operations. The time taken to travel to the new seaport is approximately 40 minutes viathe Second Link highway.

Some of the air cargo operators are Airmark Pte Ltd, Singapore, Expo Aviation Pte Ltd,Singapore, Senai Cargo Hub Sdn. Bhd. Johor and MAS Cargo Johor. Airmark and ExpoAviation operate Antonov 8 / Antonov 12 or Antonov 24 to Phnom Penh or Jakarta on a chartered basis. Senai Cargo Hub operates to Jakarta daily with a B737-200. At a later stage, this company will use a B727 to Hong Kong. MAS Cargo operates a B737 on domestic routes.

For Cargo operations the airport is open 24 hours a day. For ground handling please consult the above operators or contact the airport management. The airport has accepted Antonov 124 Ruslan loading and unloading cargo at the airport on a number of occasions. One of the largest cargo helicopter in the world, the MI 26 has landed at the airport for cargo operations.

This airport also welcomes Technical Stop aircraft to stop over and refuel. Just file in your flight plan to Kuala Lumpur Area Control Center and contact your ground-handling agent in Malaysia.

The landing and parking charges as specified in the Malaysia Aeronautical Information Publication(AIP) and the charges are the lowest in the region.

For those interested to build their own warehouse or for rental purposes, the land available is as shown by the map attached. One area is approximately 90 acres and the other is approximately 70 acres.

Do land and use the airport and you get more value out of your money due to the foreign exchange rates. The Malaysia Ringgit (RM) is pegged to the American Dollar and for comparison purposes SIN $1.00 is equivalent to approximately RM 2.50 (please refer to the latest foreign exchange).
